More than 50,000 Expected at 2012 Bahrain International Airshow
MANAMA, Bahrain, Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With 40 sold-out corporate chalets, Bahraini officials are expecting a record number of attendees at the three-day Bahrain International Airshow, which begins today at Sakhir Air Base.
"We have had a tremendous response and there is a lot of interest from the public as thousands of tickets have already been sold," Civil Aviation Affairs Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Al Goud said.
This year's attendance is projected to reach 50,000, surpassing attendance at the last Airshow by 10,000. Officials attribute the gain to more spectator events and an increased number of corporate chalets.
Keeping the increase of visitors to the country in mind, Bahrain has prioritized the safety of the event and employed all resources and efforts to ensure its success, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said earlier this week.
