Between product donations from Vitamin World, a division of NBTY, and contributions from Vitamin World customers in stores, Vitamin World has now surpassed the impressive milestone of reaching 10 million children through its partnership with Vitamin Angels. In 2013, Vitamin World donated nearly 50 million children's chewable multivitamins to Vitamin Angels. 11.8 million doses of which were distributed to children in need in the United States.
"The support we receive from the Vitamin World team is nothing less than outstanding," Vitamin Angels founder and president, Howard Schiffer. "They are truly committed to improving the health of individuals around the world. The generosity of Vitamin World's customers is helping to end undernutrition for children who are in need. We are so grateful."
"Vitamin World is privileged to help address the urgent need to help combat childhood vitamin deficiency," said Vicki McGuire, Senior Vice President of Vitamin World. "Through our participation in Vitamin Angels, we want to ensure that children locally and around the world receive a healthy start in life. With the tremendous generosity of our customers we are helping to make that happen."
Since 2008, Vitamin World has dedicated between three and five months out of each year to fundraising in-store as well as on www.vitaminworld.com, its company website. The two annual campaigns, "Angels for Moms" and "Be an Angel, Make a Difference" are enthusiastically promoted by Vitamin World Associates and Managers who work tirelessly to fundraise for the Vitamin Angels cause.
