More Flights and Larger Planes Coming to Akron-Canton Airport
GREEN, Ohio, April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A little more leg room. Additional Flight times. Ability to have an amazing flight to an amazing destination? Priceless. And we are offering a little more of it all at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) this spring and summer.
United Express will launch a fourth nonstop flight to Chicago beginning June 9, 2011. The flight will depart CAK at 3:49 p.m. arriving at Chicago O'Hare Airport at 4:17 pm. It will depart Chicago at 1:05 p.m. arriving at CAK at 3:21 p.m.

"Customers have been telling us that they want to go to Chicago and that it is a convenient place to connect to the 150 destinations that United flies from our hub at Chicago – O'Hare. The 4th flight very nicely rounds out our service."
AirTran Airways also will begin a second daily nonstop flight to Boston on May 4, 2011. A third nonstop flight to Milwaukee starts on May 1, 2011 on SkyWest Airlines, in partnership with AirTran Airways. And AirTran has already commenced a third daily nonstop flight to New York's LaGuardia Airport. Other service increases include two additional weekly frequencies to Philadelphia on US Airways Express.
In addition to the increased number of flights, passengers will feel extra comfy on our new bigger jet service. Delta Air Lines has already started flying a 120-seater DC-9 on their 7 a.m. nonstop Atlanta flight. On May 2, 2011 this jet will switch to the 142 seat MD-88 and the airline will upgrade another Atlanta departure to a CRJ-700 with a duel class cabin. Lastly, Frontier Airlines will bring back their seasonal Airbus 320 service to Denver. This 162-seat jet, the largest jet departure from CAK, comes back May 23, 2011.
