SEATTLE, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente will expand its number of medical centers to 30 by adding 5 new medical centers over the next 18 months, further expanding patients' access to their choice of world-class providers in state-of-the-art facilities. The organization announced today that individuals and families will soon be able to access Kaiser Permanente's convenient care in Gig Harbor, Ballard, West Olympia, Smokey Point and Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood.
"We are proud to continue making strategic and customer-driven investments in great care and good jobs in our communities," said Susan Mullaney, president of Kaiser Permanente Washington. "Now even more patients across our state will have convenient access to the care they want, where they want it."
The medical centers, set to open between the end of 2018 and early 2020, will each house different services designed to meet individual members' and communities' needs. With its unique integrated care delivery model, all of Kaiser Permanente's providers are fully coordinated to improve patients' experience, value, and wellness. Kaiser Permanente members can find convenient care through clinicians ranked among Washington's best, online access to appointments and care, and now even more medical centers designed with their needs in mind.
"As clinicians, we are thrilled to bring our excellent primary, specialty and ambulatory care to more communities," said Stephen Tarnoff, MD, president and executive medical director, Washington Permanente Medical Group, which provides care exclusively to Kaiser Permanente members in the Washington region. "Kaiser Permanente physicians are conveniently available to our patients, ready to provide exceptional care for everybody."
Kaiser Permanente continues to make investments in our Washington members and communities. Concurrent with the new medical center openings, the organization is undertaking an extensive redesign and remodel of its flagship Capitol Hill campus. That process will continue through 2022, and includes future expansion of CareClinic sites throughout the region. Earlier this year, the organization also unveiled upgrades and innovations to its telehealth options to further expand consumer choice.
"We continue to grow and innovate so that each patient in Washington state can have even more choices for great care," said Mullaney. "Our members expect everything, and that's what we strive to provide — experience, affordability, technology and convenience."
