New Hub Gives West-Coast Clients Easy Access to Linguistic Talent, Services
MONTEREY, Calif., Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Moravia has announced the opening of the Moravia Language Center in Monterey, California. The new hub will offer a variety of language-related services, including translation, localization testing and reviewing, international consumer sentiment analysis, and helpdesk or customized support in multiple languages.
The center gives Moravia's customers, especially companies near Silicon Valley and along the West Coast, quick access to a broad pool of linguistic resources. Located at 787 Munras Avenue, the Moravia Language Center can accommodate up to 60 people at one time, including both full-time Moravia employees and part-time translators or reviewers working on-site.
Valeska van Vliet, who heads the new Moravia Language Center, said Monterey is well-known as "The Language Capital of the World." As home to the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, the Defense Language Institute and other renowned sources for foreign-language learning, "the Monterey area has a concentration of linguistic talent you just can't find anywhere else in the United States," van Vliet said.
"It also allows us to help keep costs down for our clients because we'll be working with top-tier talent that's all based locally, not in a highly expensive metropolitan area," she added.
According to Robert Sarver, Moravia's Senior Solution Architect who conceived this new Moravia service offering, the selection of Monterey as a West Coast hub fits well into Moravia's "Second City" growth strategy.
"By concentrating our operations outside of the world's largest cities, like New York, Vancouver or London, Moravia can be far more cost-competitive without compromising on the quality of our services," Sarver said. "And because of Monterey's unique position as the leading center for foreign language learning in the United States, it's a particularly good fit for Moravia's long-term growth strategy."
Moravia is currently accepting applications for native-language speakers to work with the Moravia Language Center in Monterey," van Vliet added.
