MoralEyes To Donate 2400 Pairs of New Eyeglasses for the Needy
Brooklyn based Socially Responsible Startup; MoralEyes plans to personally deliver 2400 pairs of Reading Glasses to New Eyes for the Needy
BROOKLYN, N.Y., May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Joe Sacks, CEO of MoralEyes, and his team will hand deliver 2400 pairs of reading glasses to the offices of New Eyes for the Needy a non-profit in Short Hills, New Jersey, bringing their total donation to 3600 pairs of reading glasses to date. "Our goal for 2011 is to donate at least 10,000 pairs to New Eyes for the Needy, we are more than a third of the way there and have just begun," said Joe Sacks CEO.
MoralEyes will close for the day to begin the company road trip in a minivan from ZipCar at 9:30 am on Wednesday May 4th, 2011. The teams and volunteers from both organizations will meet for the first time since the New Eyes fundraiser "See for Change II" in March, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, where Joe Sacks, CEO of Moral Eyes and Susan Dyckman, Executive Director of New Eyes for the Needy met personally to discuss their continuing cooperation.
MoralEyes is a philanthropic minded wholesaler and retailer of modern reading glasses and accessories inspired by Blake Mycoskie of TOMS Shoes. The business model is simple, for every pair of glasses sold, wholesale or retail, they donate a pair to New Eyes for the Needy.
New Eyes for the Needy is a non-profit organization committed to providing eyeglasses to children and adults in need across the United States and in developing countries around the world. Last year New Eyes for the Needy provided eyeglasses to 4,102 needy residents of the U.S. and 200,000 poor people in developing nations, enabling American children to succeed in school, adults to secure jobs and senior citizens to read medicine labels by improving their eyesight.
