Moovit Reaches 10 Million Users Worldwide and Prepares to Expand to Asian Market
Alex Torres, former Global Head of GeoConsumer Community at Google Maps, is appointed as VP of Global Product Marketing, and will manage the company's headquarters in San Francisco

Moovit, the world´s leading public transport app, has already quadrupled the scope of its global operations in 2014, adding more than 300 new cities this year and crossing the 10 million user threshold. The company is launching a new city every day, and one million new users join the Moovit community on a monthly basis.
The app is currently available in over 40 countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia, and in approximately 400 cities, including New York, Paris, London, Rome, Los Angeles, Barcelona, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Sydney and Toronto.
Last month, Moovit started to expand to Asia, and has already opened service in selected cities in South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
As part of Moovit's global growth strategy, Alex Torres was appointed VP of Global Product Marketing based in San Francisco, CA. Prior to Moovit, Torres has worked for more than 9 years for Google Inc. where he has exercised different functions in the Project Management, Product Marketing and Product Management organizations, launching new products like Google Site Search and new Google Search Appliance versions. He also created the first worldwide Google Local community team under Marissa Mayer's org and started Product Marketing operations in Japan and Latin America for Google Enterprise (now Google for Work).
With the addition of Alex Torres to the company's senior management team, Moovit has recently opened a San Francisco office.
