With over 100 million Shopkins sold worldwide, it's no secret that Shopkins fans are passionate about growing their collections and chasing the rare characters. Moose Toys harnessed this energy to help children in need, while making one lucky fan's Shopkins collection priceless.
"We are thrilled that something so tiny can make such a big difference," said Paul Solomon, Co-CEO of Moose Toys. "The Toy Industry Foundation is an incredible organization dedicated to helping children, and we hope that this contribution will help bring even more smiles to children's faces this holiday season."
Excitement for the auction escalated among Shopkins fans from the first listing on eBay on Monday, November 30, 2015, with bids growing quickly throughout the week.
"As we approach the holidays, it's more important than ever to comfort children in need," said Jean Butler, Executive Director at the Toy Industry Foundation. "The proceeds from the Gemma Stone auction will allow us to distribute brand-new toys and games to kids who would otherwise go without the magic of play this holiday season. We are grateful to Moose Toys for their support and commitment to bettering the lives of underserved children!"
While one dedicated fan is calling Gemma Stone their own, Moose Toys wants to spread the Shopkins love and is donating Shopkins toys worth $100,000 retail value, in addition to the monetary donation from Gemma Stone. In the spirit of giving, the toy donation will be made to the Toy Industry Foundation to share with children in need this holiday season.
