Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Newport Beach to offer day treatment for Eating Disorders beginning October 27, 2016

MALIBU, Calif., Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Monte Nido & Affiliates, a Joint-Commission accredited leading provider of treatment for eating disorders, with 18 locations nationally, will open the Eating Disorder Center of Newport Beach on October 27, 2016.

The new center offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment programming for adolescents and adults with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and exercise addiction. Monte Nido's treatment approach focuses on the restoration of physiological and nutritional balance, the elimination of destructive behaviors and the development of motivation and treatment engagement. This treatment approach is supported by Monte Nido's decade-long post-graduate outcome study on residential eating disorder clients. Monte Nido Newport Beach will also provide specialized integrated treatment of substance use disorder, focusing on stabilizing symptoms, reducing urges, enhancing motivation and developing alternative coping capacities. In the study, the vast majority of clients demonstrated significant changes in symptoms and behaviors from admission to discharge—and maintained that improvement throughout the course of the study.
