Agreement Maintains Unrivaled Job Solutions Across Nationwide Network of Local Media Outlets
WESTON, Mass., Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Monster (NYSE: MWW) and the Local Media Consortium (LMC) today announced the renewal of their alliance to distribute local recruitment content, job ads, career services and talent management solutions as pioneered by Monster through a growing nationwide alliance of leading local media outlets, including Cox Media Group, Digital First Media, Gatehouse Media, Journal Media Group, Lee Enterprises, and many others. The agreement, which represents 745 local papers and over 20 media companies, extends the original relationship forged in 2011 for an additional three years, and retains all current LMC/ Monster newspaper alliance partners.
"The significance of this agreement goes beyond the distribution of job ads across local media publications," said Mark Stoever, President and Chief Operating Officer at Monster. "Monster is working with the Local Media Consortium to provide a solution that helps these media outlets have compelling career content and offerings that allows them to compete with their national counterparts. As we further our mission, Monster's work with local media outlets means helping create opportunity for all by connecting more people and jobs."
The LMC was created in 2011 to address the needs of advertisers seeking to reach significant audiences on local media properties in the United States. The LMC seeks to provide members with access to leading technology and content solutions by maintaining key partnerships with Monster, as well as Google, Yahoo, Legacy.com and many others.
"As the LMC continues to seek strategic ways to expand our offerings to employers and seekers, we have taken steps to ensure that we have the processes, technology and infrastructure to deliver the highest level of service and support to our customers," said Rusty Coats, Executive Director of the Local Media Consortium. "Our alliance is one of the longest running agreements of its kind, originating in the belief that the best recruiting solutions must be offered by brands that best deliver consistent results across the widest range of areas, especially in local markets where demand for high-quality career opportunities is critical. The LMC and Monster always have shared this as a core principle, and our renewal ensures that we'll continue to serve job seekers and customers unparalleled access to resources in the industry."
Monster and the Local Media Consortium will continue their strategic agreement and engage across the ever-growing network of local outlets that serve hundreds of municipalities and regions across the United States. While mergers, acquisitions, alignments and strategic relationships of various local media outlets have changed since the deal was initially founded, the quality and scale of services provided by Monster to their partners has grown significantly.
"Lee and fellow consortium members believe there are significant opportunities as a result of our strategic relationships, which is clearly true of our affiliation with Monster," said Gregory Schermer, Vice-President, Strategy, Lee Enterprises, Inc. "We are uniquely positioned to drive print and digital packages as our local job markets solidify around the economic recovery. This arrangement ensures that our target reach, audience visibility and advertising opportunities will continue across the LMC network with further amplification from Monster's national reach of job opportunities."
