Prior to joining the Monolith Board of Directors, Jim served as Chairman and President of Michelin North America from 1996 until his retirement in 2008. "Jim is an extremely experienced and successful executive who will help drive the company towards commercial penetration with tire, industrial, and specialty customers. We are extremely excited to welcome him to our board of directors," said Bill Brady, Monolith's Executive Chairman. "We believe his market knowledge and experience building large organizations will be highly valuable as Monolith enters the next phase of its commercial expansion."
Jim also serves on the Board of Directors for Sonoco Products, SCANA Corporation, American Tire Distributors, Humphrey Enterprises, and GVD Corporation. His prior Board experience includes Lafarge North America and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.
"I am very honored and excited to lend my expertise and insights to the Monolith team, as I believe their innovative technology has the potential to truly change not just the tire but many industries that touch Americans every day," said Micali. "The company's business plan is solid, and their commitment to returning manufacturing jobs to the United States is admirable, along with the environmental benefits they bring to the industries they serve."
Micali received his legal degree from Boston College Law School in 1973 and practiced law with Higgins, Cavanagh, & Cooney before joining Michelin's legal department in 1977.
