Monitronics Donates 350 Back-to-School Backpacks to Deion Sanders' Nonprofit
Fundraising Event at Sanders' Home Benefits Inner City Kids
DALLAS, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Back-to-school is in full swing and kids nationwide have backpacks full of slick new binders, notebooks, and pocket folders. Monitronics partnered with Deion Sanders' nonprofit, Prime Time Association (PTA), last week to donate 350 backpacks loaded with back-to-school supplies for local kids aged 5-14.
PTA hosted an event at Sanders' home on August 21 to distribute the backpacks, filled by volunteers, with necessary school supplies. Around 700 guests attended, including the children set to receive their backpacks. Monitronics was represented by Kaiyan Chen and Travis Miller.
"Monitronics strives to be a good neighbor, and developing the lives of children is a wonderful way to do that," said Mitch Clarke, Vice President of Marketing at Monitronics. "We've worked with Mr. Sanders before and are proud to be associated with such a generous community member."
This event was the culmination of PTA's annual activities, which include mentoring, sportsmanship, and education through things like sports teams, summer camps, and recreation programs.
"We set out to enhance the kids' lives and we didn't want this special back-to-school time to be limited by any financial needs they have," said Sanders. "We want to create the best experiences and role models for kids and thanks to companies like Monitronics, we are able to do more in the community."
