Monitron and FreeWave Host Latin American Training and Certification Seminar
FreeWave and Latin America resellers to train attendees on instrumentation used in the areas of seismology, data radio communication networks and the Smart Grid
BOULDER, Colo., July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FreeWave Technologies, (http://www.freewave.com), manufacturer of the most reliable, high-performance spread spectrum and licensed radios for critical data transmission, and Mexican reseller, Monitron, (http://www.monitron.mx), today announced their first joint training seminar for their Latin American representatives and customers. The event will be held from July 11-15, 2011 in the area of San Jose Insurgentes, Mexico City. FreeWave and Monitron are providing product information and application note materials, as well as the products themselves for hands-on training. Bringing customers, resellers and other partners together demonstrates the momentum FreeWave and Monitron are realizing in this part of the world.
"We value our relationship with Monitron and our Latin American representatives, not only because of the dynamic role they play in growing our business, but because we depend on them to deliver top-notch support to our customers," explained Roy Rosado, business development executive for Latin America at FreeWave Technologies. "Monitron has demonstrated a strong commitment to FreeWave, making it a critical piece of both our sales and support teams. Because of their in-depth knowledge and unwavering loyalty, we strive to ensure they have 100 percent of our support from start to finish in any customer sales and support situation."
Monitron will kick off the event with a day of training focused on seismology and volcanic monitoring applications. The focus will be on learning seismic station instrumentation systems, including sensors, digitizers, software platforms and other modules for interfacing with other systems. "At Monitron, we pride ourselves in offering reliable data communication solutions for the seismic and volcanic monitoring marketplace," says Juan Carlos Ambrosi, CEO of Monitron. "We ensure every aspect of these mission-critical installations – from selecting the right equipment, to custom project designs, and even the implementation and evaluation of the communication networks themselves – is carried out with the utmost regard for meeting our customers' objectives. Human lives are at risk, so, we need to ensure we provide the most reliable and proven solution possible."
The next three days of the training seminar are focused on FreeWave's Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) data radio offerings, including its 900 MHz Ethernet radio products, used widely in several applications across Latin America. Attendees will be trained on various topics and technologies, including network topologies, antenna systems and accessories, dispersion studies, basic radio configuration skills, basic network designs, telemetry systems maintenance, overview of Ethernet and TCP/IP, FreeWave's popular ToolSuite software platform, and much more. "Organizations count on our radios for reliable data communications and rely on our support for operational success," continued Rosado. "We know the determination and commitment from our resellers will make these training sessions a success and will translate into continued efficiencies and knowledge for our joint customers moving forward."
The final day of the event will shift the focus onto energy utilities and synchronization within the Smart Grid, an emerging market both FreeWave and Monitron are currently penetrating together.
"We are proud to partner with a leading trustworthy data communication solutions provider like FreeWave," said Cesar Morquecho, Engineer Manager of Monitron. "Together, we will continue to work with FreeWave and our customers to improve our offerings that are the preferred choice for Latin American utilities and volcanic and seismic monitoring companies."
