NEW YORK and PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MongoDB, the database for giant ideas, today announced that John McMahon has joined the company's Board of Directors. McMahon is one of the most respected executives in the software industry and has held executive positions at several companies, including BMC Software, BladeLogic, Ariba, Cisco (GeoTel) and Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC).
Mr. McMahon's career in the enterprise software sector has spanned leadership roles in sales, professional services, customer service and marketing at public as well as venture-backed, high-growth software companies. "As we continue to rapidly scale our business, his advice on leadership, go-to-market and operational excellence will be incredibly important."
Previously at BMC, McMahon was responsible for $1.4B in annual revenue. McMahon joined BMC after the company acquired BladeLogic, where he was chief operating officer. He was instrumental in BladeLogic's IPO and consistently grew revenues over 100 percent year-over-year. "As we enter the software-defined economy, where software enables a competitive advantage for nearly every business, MongoDB has a tremendous opportunity to capture a significant part of a massive $36B database market," said McMahon.
