Money Under 30 Launches Scholarship for the Advancement of Women in Finance
Leading Personal Finance Site Establishes $3,000 Scholarship Fund for Women in Finance
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Money Under 30, a leading personal finance site for young adults, today announced their inaugural Scholarship for Women in Finance. The award is designed to help young women shoulder the unique financial burdens they face as they pursue a path to higher education.
While all American students struggle with debt, women face exceptional challenges as society expects them to undertake the roles of both breadwinner and bread-maker. Money Under 30 hopes to contribute to the academic empowerment of women in the field of finance by encouraging them to excel in business and finance studies, while becoming active leaders and role models in the field.
"Today's young adults are woefully unprepared to face surprise expenses, tuition loans, and mortgages," said Yoni Dayan, Chief Editor of Money Under 30. "We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to promote female leadership in finance, enabling promising students to reach their goals. We hope that the winners of the MU30 Scholarship for Women in Finance will go on to inspire young women around them to lead financially stable and successful lives."
Money Under 30 is offering two one-time scholarships, totaling $3,000, with the goal of helping to build a community of fiscally healthy young women. The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship, and the runner-up will receive a $1,000 scholarship, payable directly to the accredited educational institution of choice.
Applicants can apply by filling out a short form on the Money Under 30 Website and tweeting about an important real-life financial tip that could bring value to themselves and others. Finalists will be required to submit a full-length essay about their personal journey to becoming financially health.
The winners will be selected based on the content and creativity of their essays, and on the value their essay provides to others. In addition, the winning essays will be featured on MoneyUnder30.com as bylined articles.
The deadline for applicants to apply for the Money Under 30 Scholarship for Women in Finance is March 31st, 2019; the deadline for finalists to submit essays will be May 15, 2019. For more information email [email protected].
