DALLAS, Dec. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Modo, the company that creates interoperability for payments, today announced Brian Billingsley, Former CEO of Klarna North America, as the latest to join their team. Billingsley has an extensive payments background that will play an integral role in continuing the expansion of Modo's capabilities for their clients. Billingsley will be joining as Modo's Chief Revenue Officer.
Bruce Parker, Founder & CEO of Modo, and Billingsley have done great things together before, such as the partnership between Klarna and Modo. Modo's 'Checkout Event' payment event service makes implementing checkouts for Klarna's eCommerce merchants seamless. Modo allows Klarna to interoperate with online merchants in a fraction of the time of traditional integrations by accelerating implementation of the Klarna checkout solution for e-retailers worldwide.
"I was blown away by Modo's tech when we implemented it at Klarna, and am very excited to be joining the team," says Billingsley. "Modo has incredible talent and technology, and I believe Modo will revolutionize payments over the next few years making complex payments function as we experience email today - it just works."
"All I wanted for Christmas was for Brian to join the team, and Santa really came through for this lucky #paymentsgeek this year. He's honestly the best Christmas present I could've asked for," says Parker. "Brian crushed it as the CEO of Klarna North America, and also at Alliance Data before that. I am thrilled he decided to join us here at Modo and can't wait to see what kind of beautiful, beautiful payments music we can make together."
This announcement is the cherry on top of an amazing year for the Modo team:
- Modo powers partnership between Verifone and FIS to pay with loyalty points in-store
- Alliance Data leverages Modo for 'Checkout Event' and 'Loyalty Event' technology
- Dee Hock joins the Modo advisory team
- Matthew Leavenworth joins the Modo leadership team
Billingsley will be officially joining the Modo team in January 2018.
