The Society of Women Engineers held their annual conference and awards, WE18, the world's largest conference and career fair for women engineers, in Minneapolis, Minnesota last month. The Fellow Grade award recognizes continuous service to the advancement of women in the engineering profession.
Janke, Principal Manufacturing Engineer in the Vehicular Thermal Solutions (VTS) segment, has been with Modine for 21 years and is currently responsible for cost estimating activity for products manufactured at the Trenton, Missouri facility and aluminum welded tube products at Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She has previously held roles in Engineering Systems and Standards as an Industrial Engineer, focused on North American facilities' labor routings and in Operations on several production transfer projects as well as special projects with Quality at several facilities.
Janke joined over 14,000 professional and collegiate men and women in engineering and technology attending the event for professional development, education and networking. She has advocated for the SWE mission of empowering women to achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders for over 30 years. The Fellow Grade award is an honor conferred on SWE members with at least 20 years of membership, who have achieved professional excellence while also making substantive contributions towards advancing women's contributions in the field of engineering and engineering management.
"I am greatly honored to receive this award," said Gina Janke, Modine Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Vehicular Thermal Solutions. "SWE has always been very important to me as it has been a constant support through my collegiate career through the present. With such a potential, often untapped, pool of intelligent and talented girls and women, SWE inspires females to achieve engineering success in their professional and personal lives through development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities. I am proud to be a part of this organization and its mission."
"We are so excited to see Gina as a recipient of this award," said Tom Burke, Modine President & Chief Executive Officer. "We value Gina's leadership and dedication to the engineering profession and for her efforts to empower and inspire future women engineers at Modine and in Wisconsin."
