SILICON VALLEY, Calif., March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mode Media (www.modemediacorp.com), a top 10 U.S. media property with over 400 million monthly users worldwide (source: comScore Multi-Platform & Mode Media internal data) with 149 million U.S. comScore unique users, today announced that for the first time in their 12-year history, it is now in the top 10 Mobile properties.
In January 2015, Mode Media entered the Top 10 in mobile and ranked eighth among top 100 mobile properties, reaching 92 million unique visitors on mobile devices, up from 82 million in December 2014, its largest mobile audience to date, according to comScore. In addition, Mode passed a historical milestone as its mobile reach surpassed desktop users for the first time in January.
Now, over fifty percent of Mode's mobile audience engages through mobile-optimized and responsive sites, which span across many of the 6,000 creators in Mode's ecosystem. Mode works to mobile-optimize the creators' sites, create mobile apps, and continue to help them be successful as mobile engagement continues to grow.
"As mobile is increasingly important to our business, we're happy to have Mode as our partner with their mobile products to help us monetize," said Jillian Tohber Leslie, founder of Catch My Party.
Mode reaches 75 percent of millennials in the U.S., 43 million via mobile devices and 25 million on desktops, according to comScore.
"This marks a very important milestone for Mode—our mobile reach surpassed desktop as our target audiences increasingly consume content from smartphones and tablets. Providing a superior mobile experience for our creators and customers is paramount as traffic gravitates toward mobile and devices," said Samir Arora, co-founder and CEO, Mode Media.
Arora is a keynote speaker at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on March 2nd, where he will be speaking on the "Emotion & Science of Content @ Scale on Mobile & Devices" at the "Disrupted by Mobile" track at 4YFN. Arora will also be sharing his experience working on the first tablet at Apple prior to the launch of iPod, iPhone and iPad. Arora will also provide a sneak peak of some of the new products under development by Mode Media's Silicon Valley team.
