BOSTON, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobiquity (www.mobiquityinc.com), a mobile engagement provider creating innovative solutions that drive business value, today announced it has created a new healthcare business unit devoted entirely to researching, experimenting with, and developing healthcare-specific solutions for Mobiquity's enterprise customers. The group will focus on strategies for medication monitoring, mobilizing medical devices and changing patient behavior, as well as other mobile health-related initiatives. Based on the latest mobile technologies such as sensors, gamification and new intervention models, Mobiquity's healthcare business unit designs, develops and deploys integrated, connected-health solutions that meet HIPAA, PHI and global regulatory authority requirements.

The healthcare business unit will be led by Scott Snyder, president and chief strategy officer; Ashkan Afkhami, co-general manager, Healthcare; Bill Truhe, co-general manager, Healthcare; and Nirav Desai, principal healthcare strategist. In addition to a dedicated healthcare advisory board made up of outside industry experts, the team's experience in healthcare-related research and development will allow Mobiquity to not only develop and launch solutions across the healthcare spectrum – payers, providers, pharmaceutical companies, purchasers, pharmacy/pharmacy benefits management and patient-specific solutions – but also provide advice and counsel about the mobile initiatives organizations may already have in place. Healthcare clients to date include Alere, Medavie Blue Cross and Pfizer.
Point-of-care diagnostics and services provider Alere Inc. turned to Mobiquity for a responsive, platform-agnostic mobile Web experience for its 18,200 employees. "Mobiquity has been a great mobile partner, working with us to understand how all of our disparate Web assets could be consolidated to be more effective and consistent," said Julie Godon, VP global marketing services, Alere. "Now our One Alere Web portal unifies the company through a modern interface accessible from desktops, tablets and smartphones."
Mobiquity is launching its new business unit after more than a year of innovations in the space and with a substantial amount of business coming from this sector. The new healthcare business unit will focus its attention on four main areas:
- Strategy/Innovation. Pushing the envelope of possibilities to create new connected-health business models and offerings, and more engaging and mutually beneficial mobile experiences.
- Integrated Design, Build and Deploy. Putting the customer and patient at the center of each mobile solution design in order to deliver the best experience.
- Advisory Services. Offering advice and counsel about existing mobile initiatives to ensure they deliver maximum impact and scale while minimizing risk.
- Behavior Change Solutions. Offering a repeatable framework for launching impactful solutions to shape and reinforce positive patient behaviors through Mobiquity's Behavior Change Platform (BCP).
"For widespread adoption of mobile healthcare, or mHealth, technologies, it's critical to put the customer and patient at the center of solution designs – and create scenarios, personas, wireframes and prototypes that deliver the best experience," said Scott Snyder, president and chief strategy officer, Mobiquity. "The right mobile innovations have the power to impact widespread change through improved health, wellness and reach (bringing life-saving technology to people). That's exactly what we're looking to build."
"The health app market is growing in popularity. The balance between 'supply side' innovation and 'regulatory' supervision will evolve and impact all stakeholders (payers, providers, medical device companies, telecom providers and healthcare technology firms)," according to Jessica Ekholm, research director, Gartner.
