Mobility Ventures to Showcase MV-1 Vehicle at National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association Annual Conference
SOUTH BEND, Ind., Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobility Ventures LLC, a subsidiary of AM General, will showcase its revolutionary MV-1 vehicle at the 23rd Annual National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) Conference, Reno, Nev., Feb. 5-7, 2014, Booth #441.
"We are pleased to show the MV-1 at NMEDA's 23rd Annual conference," said John Walsh, Mobility Ventures Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "The NMEDA conference is a fantastic venue to network with the many professionals in our industry who are committed to improving the quality, safety and reliability of accessible transportation. We look forward to working with NMEDA and its partners as Mobility Ventures continues to grow its MV-1 dealership network across the United States."
Mobility Ventures produces the MV-1 – the only American-built vehicle specifically designed from the ground up to meet or exceed the needs of wheelchair passengers and the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The MV-1 fills a significant void in consumer, government and livery fleet markets while providing unsurpassed accessibility, safety and comfort for its passengers.
Built at AM General's world-class, 675,000 square-foot Commercial Assembly Plant in Mishawaka, Ind., the MV-1 is universally designed, allowing people of all abilities equal access to a reliable, safe and inclusive transportation option. The MV-1 meets all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) direct from the factory requiring no further modifications. Additionally, the MV-1 is more durable and cost effective to own and operate than a traditional retrofitted van or bus, as validated by its existing user community.
Walsh noted the MV-1 comes equipped with a deployable integrated power ramp for quick and easy passenger access along with a tested and approved, dealer installed, B&D transfer seat that fits in the spacious vehicle interior. In the Spring of 2014, Mobility Ventures will launch its luxury vehicle model called the MV-1 LX which will offer customers a push button power remote door that deploys the roll-on/roll-off ramp to provide complete independence. The MV-1 is dedicated to safely transporting all passengers - with or without mobility challenges - making it the perfect solution for both consumers and commercial fleet services.
