-Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to enhance wireless experience for St. Louis football fans and thousands of visitors who attend events at the complex in the heart of St. Louis
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobilitie LLC, the nation's largest privately-held provider of wireless infrastructure, today announced that they have been selected to install a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at the America's Center convention complex and Edward Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis. The new system will enhance the wireless experience for attendees at NFL games, conventions, public shows and concerts at these venues.
"As the consumer demand for mobile connectivity and bandwidth continues to increase exponentially, we are helping large venues such as Edward Jones Dome and the America's Center improve wireless service so that fans and visitors can have the best possible experience on their mobile devices," said Christos Karmis, president of Mobilitie. "Our neutral host DAS networks allow each of the wireless carriers to dramatically improve coverage for every customer that comes to this location."
Mobilitie is the industry leader of deploying and operating high density neutral host wireless networks across sporting and entertainment venues. In addition to America's Center and the Edward Jones Dome, Mobilitie operates other networks across NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB stadiums as well as large convention centers. Construction for the new DAS at the venue in St. Louis will be complete in time for the beginning of the 2014 football season.
"The attendee or fan experience is becoming just as important as the game, concert or public show event," said Marty Brooks, senior vice president and general manager of the America's Center Convention Complex and Edward Jones Dome. "As a top-tier stadium and facility we must provide ample coverage so our visitors can connect, share, browse and post seamlessly. After carefully reviewing all of our options and speaking with leading DAS providers in the industry, we selected Mobilitie because of its experience with large sporting venues, innovative approach, and dedicated customer focus."
The Edward Jones Dome hosts professional football and various concerts, conventions, competitions and public shows. Capable of seating up to 67,224 people, the Dome includes 120 suites and 6,773 club seats.
