MobileIron Opens New Office in Tokyo, Japan
Mikio Yanashita Named VP of Sales, APAC & Japan Region
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (www.mobileiron.com), the innovator in mobile device management and security, today announced that in response to rapidly growing demand it is expanding its presence in Asia by opening an office in Tokyo, Japan. The company also announced that Mikio Yanashita, a veteran of leading technology companies including APC, Cisco and Nokia, has joined MobileIron as VP of Sales for APAC & Japan. Yanashita is based in Japan.
Yanashita has more than 25 years of experience with both top-tier start-ups and leading high tech companies. He began his career where he introduced the TCP/IP gateway for IBM/Hitachi/Fujitsu mainframe computers. Then he co-developed the first ISDN dial-up router with Telebit (acquired by Cisco). At APC he doubled the networked-UPS business every quarter and built $100M USD business from a scratch. Then at Cisco he ran the company's partner sales division in Japan which he grew the business to over $2B USD. As country manager for Nokia Enterprise in Japan, he grew the fledgling group into a fully productive business unit. He then served as vice president of business development for NetOne System where he drove the adoption of cloud computing in Japan. Mikio has also successfully established and grown the Japanese businesses of US start-ups such as NetScaler (acquired by Citrix) and 3tera (acquired by CA).
