MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (NASDAQ:MOBL), the stand-alone EMM leader, today announced that Ojas Rege has been named Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, reporting to CEO Barry Mainz.

Ojas has nearly 30 years of experience in technology, including 16 years in mobile. His perspective on enterprise mobility has been covered by Bloomberg, CIO Magazine, Financial Times, Forbes, and Reuters. He coined the term "Mobile First" on TechCrunch in 2007, one week after the launch of the first iPhone, to represent a new model of personal and business computing. He is co-inventor on seven mobility patents, including the enterprise app store and BYOD privacy.
Ojas joined MobileIron in 2008 to lead product and marketing. He developed the company's early product strategy and launched the MobileIron brand, making the company a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader less than 24 months from the time of its first product release. Over the years, Ojas held various leadership positions in MobileIron, including, most recently, strategy.
Prior to MobileIron, Ojas led the mobile product teams at Yahoo! and AvantGo, one of the earliest mobile innovators, and started his career in 1988 as product line manager at Oracle. Ojas has a B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering from M.I.T. and an MBA from Stanford University. Ojas is a Fellow of the Ponemon Institute for information security policy. He is also Board Chair for Pact, a nonprofit in Oakland, California that provides adoption services for children of color and their parents.
