Mobile Giving Foundation Hosts First Annual Mobile Giving Forum
Day-Long Event Brings Together Various Constituents in Rapidly Emerging Mobile-Giving Ecosystem for Education and Networking Opportunities
SEATTLE, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Mobile Giving Foundation (MGF), the pioneer of mobile giving dedicated to helping charitable organizations raise funds through the mobile channel, today announced that it will host the first annual Mobile Giving Forum on October 5, 2010 at the W Hotel in San Francisco. The Forum will bring together various companies, non-profit organizations (NPOs), corporate foundations, technology providers and other influencers in the rapidly emerging mobile-giving ecosystem for a day-long program on the advancement of mobile philanthropy.
"The public response to mobile giving for crises such as Haiti earthquake relief and the Gulf oil spill truly demonstrate the power of medium," said Jim Manis, Chairman and CEO of MGF. "The Foundation's mandate to further educate people, companies and NPOs about that effectiveness is the inspiration behind the Forum event."
According to Manis, the Forum will provide educational opportunities to ecosystem players and NPOs through the sharing of best practices and innovative case studies, address industry challenges, forecast upcoming trends and areas of opportunity for the industry, and offer a networking opportunity for NPOs to connect with technology partners to enable text-to-give campaigns. Leading executives in the wireless and non-profit industries will walk attendees through key factors needed to enable innovative text-to-give campaigns.

About The Mobile Giving Foundation
The Mobile Giving Foundation (MGF) was founded in 2007 to create a "mobile giving channel" that empowers non-profit organizations and donors. Working with North America's top mobile carriers, the MGF enables the mobile channel for charitable giving by providing the organizational layer, operational guidelines and technical infrastructure for non-profit organizations and donors to use the incredible power and convenience of mobile technology. The "Mobile Giving Channel" gives wireless users a simple and immediate way to receive and respond to appeals from worthy causes with the donation charged back to the carrier bill and 100% of the donation going to the designated charity.
