On June 4, 2010 Mobile Data Corp. was accepted by Research In Motion (RIM) as a BlackBerry Alliance Select Application Development Member. This Alliance provides MDC with a host of benefits on a technical, marketing and sales basis that will further the Company's business plan rapidly. These include: Access to BlackBerry tools and SDK's, participation in BlackBerry web signals and Push API's, access to BlackBerry Internet Service-B Connectivity, Developer Forum, inclusion in the Developer Newsletter and Partner Newsletter, participation in software beta programs, use of the BlackBerry Alliance Member Logo, listing in the Solutions Catalogue, use of co-branded sales and marketing material, marketing on BlackBerry online resources, co-operative marketing opportunities, access to RIM Internal Business Units (carriers, product managers, global sales teams) and priority placement in the Mobile Solutions Center.
On Wednesday June 9, 2010 Mobile Data Corp. successfully launched the MDC-Tracker on its website www.mobiledatacorp.com. The MDC-Tracker software is presently available for installation on the BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) and is priced $4.99. The Company is advancing the MDC-Tracker to allow the software to be compatible with all of RIM's BlackBerry models.
The MDC-Tracker application provides users with a historical archive of global positioning coordinates over any given period of time. This means that, for the first time, a user will be able to know the history of where a BlackBerry Smartphone has been at various times during the day, week, month, or any other prescribed time frame.
The next steps for Mobile Data Corp. include the placement of the MDC-Tracker application on the BlackBerry Appworld Store, integration into several Social Media sites, and enhancements to the user interface. Mobile Data Corp. also expects to have the MDC-Tracker application compatible with the full BlackBerry line of Smartphones within the current quarter.
