MO BIO Laboratories, Inc. presents the Second Annual MO BIO Microbiome Awards, offering more than $10,000 in prizes!
CARLSBAD, Calif., March 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., the leader in stool, gut, microbial, plant, and soil nucleic acid isolation, announces the opening of the Second Annual MO BIO Microbiome Awards. The Microbiome Awards aim to provide young, extraordinary scientists with funding and recognition to carry out scientific work in the field of microbiome research. Submissions are now being accepted from researchers worldwide.
MO BIO Laboratories, the main sponsor of the awards, is generously donating prizes valued at more than $10,000 to distribute among the awardees. The winners will receive a research package consisting of the analysis of a total of 200 microbiome samples run by the Earth Microbiome Project (EMP) consortium. The sample analysis includes nucleic acid extraction (using MO BIO products) and targeted amplicon analysis (16S rDNA).
The judging panel consists of independent, distinguished representatives from various institutions and universities who are currently leading the field of microbiome research. The panel includes the leaders of the EMP consortium: Jack A. Gilbert, Janet Jansson, and Rob Knight; as well as world renowned microbiome scientists Joseph F. Petrosino from Baylor College of Medicine, Suzanne Kennedy, from Bio-Path Holdings, Fiona Walsh from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and Emily Hollister from the Texas Children's Microbiome Center.
Projects can be submitted at www.microbiomeprojects.com/submissions by the May 31st, 2015 deadline. The award winners will be announced on September 15th, 2015.
