M&M's® Pretzel Celebrates 1st Birthday by Smashing Guinness Record for World's Largest Pinata
Cee Lo Green to Help Release Thousands of Bags of M&M'S Pretzel Chocolate Candies from 46-foot Pinata
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J., Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Guaranteed to be a smash hit. Today, Mars Chocolate North America announced it's attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pinata to celebrate the first birthday of its widely popular M&M'S® Pretzel Chocolate Candies. Three-time Grammy-winner Cee Lo Green will co-host the New York City bash, featuring a candy-filled, 46-foot tall replica of the Orange M&M'S® spokescandy.
New Yorkers and visitors are invited to join the sweetest – and saltiest – birthday celebration in town at the 69th Regiment Armory on Thursday, August 4, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The 46-foot tall replica of the Orange M&M'S® spokescandy will release thousands of bags of M&M'S Pretzel Chocolate Candies, which will be distributed to all party guests. An official from the Guinness Book of World Records will be on-site to verify the pinata as the largest ever constructed.
"When M&M'S Pretzel was recently named the 'Product of the Year,' we knew we'd have to throw an unforgettable birthday bash," said Debra A. Sandler, Chief Consumer Officer, Mars Chocolate North America. "And it doesn't get more exciting than Cee Lo Green, a 46-foot replica of Orange and thousands of bags of M&M'S Pretzel."
Party-goers will also be treated to all the traditional birthday party bells and whistles – birthday cake, games, prizes and other fun birthday activities.
Those that can't make it to the 69th Regiment Armory for the free party can visit www.facebook.com/mms to watch highlights from the celebration or to learn more about M&M'S Pretzel.
