Mizuno's Launches "Every Mile Changes You" Brand Campaign To Celebrate The Transformative Power Of Running
Mizuno Announces Multi-City Fundraising Initiative and Extends Support to Veterans Running 911 Miles in Support of those Experiencing Traumatic Brain Injury
NORCROSS, Ga., April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mizuno, a leader in running footwear and apparel, fully launches today a brand campaign that highlights the transformative power, both physical and mental, that running has on a person, "Every Mile Changes You." A continuation of last year's "What if Everybody Ran" campaign, two initiatives will officially kick-off activation of the campaign. Mizuno will be supporting two inspirational groups that embody the "Every Mile Changes You" mantra to further inspire and create more running moments across the nation.
During the Month of April*, Mizuno will continue its support of Back on My Feet, a non-profit organization that utilizes running to inspire and empower those experiencing homelessness, through the month-long initiative. Coined "Mizuno Month," the company will donate $10 to Back on My Feet for every pair of Mizuno running shoes purchased at select running specialty retailers in cities with a local Back on My Feet chapter.
Earlier this year, Mizuno became the national running shoe provider to Back on My Feet, assuring every Back on My Feet resident has a new pair of running shoes for their training. Funds donated will be used to further support the Back on My Feet community and the organization's ongoing mission to transform lives of those experiencing homelessness one mile at a time, through the running program and its resources such as training, housing, therapy, financial assistance among many others.
Also during the month of April, Mizuno will provide running apparel and shoes to a brave group of men calling themselves “Shepherd’s Men” which includes 11 former and active U.S. service members. This team will run 911 miles in eight days to raise money and awareness for the SHARE Military Initiative program at a not-for-profit hospital in Atlanta, Ga called the Shepherd Center. The SHARE Military Initiative provides free individualized treatment and counseling to veterans struggling with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder suffered during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. The team has mapped a route starting at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City and ending at Shepherd Center.
"Mizuno is a true believer in the transformative power of running, and that every mile counts," said Kim Hoey, Brand Marketing Director, Running Division, Mizuno USA. "Both Back on My Feet and Shepherd's Men are embarking on life-altering journeys using running as a catalyst for the better and we are honored to further empower them."
