Mizuno USA Seeks To Find The Ultimate "Team" Through "The Power of Team™ Challenge"
World Series Hero and Mizuno Baseball Ambassador David Ross Serves as National Spokesperson
NORCROSS, Ga., March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mizuno USA, a global leader in sporting equipment, footwear and apparel, is championing The Power of Team™ in the launch of a consumer contest, "The Power of Team™ Challenge." Baseball, softball and volleyball teams across the U.S. will be challenged to submit a photo capturing the essence of "team" for a chance to win a personal session for their team with a Mizuno Brand Ambassador.
"Teams find collective power of a unit working as one as opposed to individuals," said David Ross, Mizuno Brand Ambassador and Boston Red Sox catcher. "We won the World Series because we played together as a team and put the team's goal above our own individual performance goals and aspirations."
Teams, players, coaches and parents across the U.S. are invited to enter "The Power of Team™ Challenge" at www.mizunoteam.com by submitting an image and short description that personifies the chemistry that makes their team amazing. Following the entry period, which concludes on April 16, 2014, qualified judges will determine the top 15 finalists from each sport category (baseball, softball and volleyball) to be posted on The Power of Team™ Challenge website to kick-off a national consumer voting period from May 1, 2014 through June 5, 2014. The team from each sport category receiving the highest number of votes will win a personal sports experience with a Mizuno Brand Ambassador respective to their chosen sport.
Fellow Mizuno Brand Ambassadors, Jose Iglesias and Victor Martinez of the Detroit Tigers, Ian Desmond of the Washington Nationals and Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies, joined Mizuno to share their personal stories on the value and impact team sports has had in their lives as part of the exclusive The Power of Team™ video series. Individual player videos are scheduled for release during the contest entry period.
