Mizuno Launches #ProjectZero to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research
Initiative Recognizes Strength of Survivor; Exclusive Partnership with Fleet Feet Sports
ATLANTA, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- No more suffering. No more loss.
That's the goal of Mizuno's #projectzero campaign.
Throughout the month of October, Mizuno is partnering with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to launch #projectzero, an initiative raising funds for breast cancer research, highlighting personal stories of strength and showcasing the role sports play in transforming lives affected by cancer.
"Mizuno stands with the millions of women and men who have been impacted by breast cancer, have lost a loved one, or are personally fighting the disease," said Chuck Couch, VP, Business Management, Running – Mizuno USA. "We know we can't cure breast cancer overnight, but we hope our work with BCRF will be a meaningful step towards ending one of the leading causes of death in America – a disease that affects us all."
The effects of breast cancer are wide-reaching. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. By launching #projectzero, Mizuno is committed to support BCRF and working together to achieve the ultimate goal of zero lives lost.
As part of the partnership, Mizuno introduces the BCRF Wave Rider 21 exclusively at Fleet Feet Sports nationwide. A special edition of the brand's cornerstone running shoe, the BCRF Wave Rider 21 paired with limited edition BCRF t-shirts bearing a custom pink-ribbon shoelace insignia design, will bring attention to a disease that has no boundaries. The BCRF gear will be available for purchase at www.mizunousa.com, www.fleetfeetsports.com and in Fleet Feet Sports retail locations across the U.S., with $10 from each pair of shoes and $5 from each shirt donated directly to BCRF.
In addition, 10% of sales from select Mizuno gear purchased from October 1 – October 31 at www.mizunousa.com/projectzero will also be donated to BCRF.
Throughout October, Mizuno will highlight stories of strength and perseverance from six charismatic, inspiring breast cancer survivors, and people whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, including Mizuno pro athletes April Ross, Jennie Finch and Meaghan Krifchin.
