Mitsubishi Power Systems to Dedicate North American Gas Turbine Manufacturing Facility and Service Center
SAVANNAH, Ga., May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, May 11 at 11:30 a.m., Hideaki Omiya, the President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI), will dedicate the first phase of a $325,000,000 gas turbine manufacturing and service facility at Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas Inc.'s (MPSA) new Savannah Machinery Works located at 1000 Pine Meadows Drive, Pooler, GA. This will be the first Mitsubishi industrial gas turbine manufacturing facility outside of Japan and reflects a corporate commitment to American manufacturing to further strengthen the company's energy leadership position.
Mitsubishi gas turbines are in operation worldwide providing clean, efficient power to millions of residential and commercial customers. The factory will provide Mitsubishi G and J class gas turbines for customers in the Western Hemisphere and beyond, with the assembly of units commencing in 2012.
