Mitchell L. Glassman, Former Director of the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Joins Deloitte
WASHINGTON, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitchell L. Glassman, former Director of the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has joined Deloitte as a director for Deloitte Consulting LLP.
Glassman, who was named Director of the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships at FDIC in January 2000, has played a vital leadership role in the FDIC's expeditious response to the surge of bank failures in recent years.

Glassman's distinguished career with the FDIC began in 1975, when he joined the Division of Liquidation. In 1993, he moved into the position of Deputy Director of Resolutions and Receiverships and developed major strategic and operating plans. He later directed the FDIC's Y2K Failed Financial Institution Contingency Planning Task Force, which created testing and training programs to deal with potential institution failures resulting from Y2K.
As an international advisor he has served the U.S. Agency for International Development on Eastern European bank rehabilitation efforts, as well as other entities including the Financial Services Volunteer Corporation, the International Association of Deposit Insurers, and the Asia-Pacific non-performing loan entities.
From 2005 to 2007, Glassman served as Dean of the College of Leadership Development in the FDIC's Corporate University, where he led the development of major new leadership training programs. In 2002, he was recognized by Federal Computer Week for his work leading the development of an e-commerce Web-based approach to handling bank resolutions and deposit liability claims.

Glassman holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and is a graduate of The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.
