Missouri Math Teacher Wins NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence
WASHINGTON, Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kathy Steinhoff, a middle school math teacher from Columbia, Missouri, took top honors at The NEA Foundation's Salute to Excellence in Education Gala, held the evening of February 11, 2011, at the Great Hall of the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. The annual event pays tribute to the nation's top educators and was attended by nearly 900 leaders from public education, business, philanthropy, and government.

The award included a $25,000 cash prize.
