MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich., March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, Mich., rated one of the top 10 islands in the world, reopens for the spring season on May 1 with getaway packages to delight travelers looking for the best ways to enjoy the scenic, car-free island.
Mission Point's packages highlight the many memory-making activities available at the Resort and around the Island for families, friends, and foodies. All the getaways include round-trip ferry tickets on the Arnold Line and daily breakfast in Chianti, our signature restaurant.
Family Fun Getaway
The activity-packed two-night getaway is a great value, and includes golf at the Resort's 18-hole executive putting greens, all lawn games (tennis, croquet and bocce ball), half-day bike rentals; and admission to Island favorites such as the Butterfly House, Fort Mackinac, and the Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Museum. Milk and cookies welcome you on the first night, along with a special Mission Point stuffed animal to take home. As always, children 12 and under eat free while at the Resort. Island Adventure Getaway
For the active lifestyle, this new getaway adds a bit of adrenaline to the Mackinac Island vacation. The two-night getaway includes half-day bike rentals, a Mission Point-created Island map to help navigate the island's wooded trails; choice of horseback riding, kayak or paddle surfing rentals, and a to-go kit of healthy snacks, bottled water, sunscreen and Mission Point Resort hat. Lilac Festival Getaway
The Lilac Festival, June 6 – 15, is Mackinac Island's most popular festival. One of the island's most beloved traditions, the festival celebrates the fragrant and colorful varieties of lilacs, many of which were brought to the island in the Colonial Era. Pure Michigan Getaway

Mission Point Culinary Getaway
Mission Point Resort prides itself on serving the best of Michigan's culinary offerings, from land to lake. New on the 2014 Resort menus is the "5 Fish of the 5 Great Lakes", offering creative and delectable main courses and appetizers featuring local, sustainably sourced whitefish, salmon, perch, walleye, and trout.
The Culinary Getaway provides the perfect way to experience the flavors of Michigan.
