Mission Pharmacal Is Proud to Sponsor March for Babies®
Walks raise funds for March of Dimes' life-enhancing work.
SAN ANTONIO, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Every newborn baby should enter this world healthy. The people at Mission Pharmacal Company and March of Dimes are dedicated to doing their best to make sure this happens. That's why Mission Pharmacal is proud to serve as a national corporate sponsor of March of Dimes March for Babies, for the third consecutive year.
Mission employees raise awareness of infant health issues and educate doctors and mothers-to-be while raising money to support the March of Dimes life-enhancing work and its premier fundraising event, March for Babies.
"March of Dimes is pleased and proud to have Mission Pharmacal renew and expand its commitment to help give all babies a healthy start in life," says Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "Mission Pharmacal recognizes the need to support community-based programs and research to fight premature birth, infant mortality, and birth defects. With Mission Pharmacal's assistance, we can also provide comfort and support to the families of babies in newborn intensive care."
"As a national sponsor of March for Babies, our company has helped raise awareness of March of Dimes' important mission," says Natalie Sirjuesingh, vice president of Marketing at Mission Pharmacal. "In addition, our sales force is helping spread the word about this vitally important challenge and work to physicians and patients. This is an important partnership for both organizations as we share a commitment to maternal and infant health, and our products can help women have strong, healthy babies. Together we strive to provide families with a better quality of life. Please join us by making a donation today."
March for Babies participants walk together for stronger, healthier babies in nearly 900 communities nationwide, with most walks occurring during the weekend of April 28-29. Mission Pharmacal corporate based employees and sales representatives across the country will participate in March for Babies. The Mission team will staff information booths at eight walks including: San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Davie, FL; Durham, NC; Newtown, PA; and New York, NY. At these sites, Mission will provide information about their products that promote infant health, including their CitraNatal® line of prenatal vitamins and Dr. Smith's® Diaper Rash Ointment.
March for Babies is the nation's oldest and largest charitable walking event. Over the past two years, Mission Pharmacal has raised more than a half million dollars towards the March of Dimes mission. Since 1970, March for Babies has raised $2 billion for life-saving research to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth.
