Misfit also announced a long-term strategic partnership with Pearl Studios where the two companies will co-develop a series of wearable products. As part of the partnership, Mladen Barbaric, co-founder of Pearl Studios, will serve as Chief Industrial Design Officer for Misfit.
Misfit Shine is an elegant physical activity monitor that you can wear anywhere on your body and to any occasion. Set your goals on the Shine app and then wear it anywhere using a number of different accessories available: hip, neck, wrist, shoes, chest, shirt, etc. Tap Shine and a halo of lights appears to show your progress toward your daily goal. Super-strong and water resistant to 100 meters, Shine is great for swimming. It is carved out of a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum and is built to last a lifetime. Shine syncs with your iPhone in seconds and is powered by a regular user-replaceable coin cell battery which lasts for 4-6 months - no cables for syncing or charging.
"Misfit and Pearl are some of the most savvy consumer product designers and engineers I've ever worked with. Beautiful, miniaturized product designs combined with battery life and software technology breakthroughs will shape the course of our wearables over the next decade," said John Sculley, former CEO of Apple.
