Misbah Khan, FAAD, FACMS, is recognized by Continental Who's Who
NEW YORK, Aug. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Misbah Khan, FAAD, FACMS, is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Medical field.
Dr. Khan's professional title is Owner and Founder/Dermatology Surgeon at M. Khan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, which specializes in cosmetic surgery and fixing botched surgeries.
"My goals in life include expanding my practice to do more research related to human adipose tissue and in the field of lasers," Dr. Khan said. Dr. Khan earned her degree in Pakistan in 1997, and then went on to complete additional training in Medicine and Dermatology at Drexel College of Medicine and the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey.
She completed a four-year Laser Research Fellowship at Wellman Labs of Photomedicine – Department of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, under the supervision of Dr. Richard Rox Anderson, as well as additional fellowships at Beckman Laser Institute at the University of California – Irvine and at the American College of Mohs Surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago.
To further her professional development, Dr. Khan is a member of the following associations: the American Academy of Dermatology; the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery; the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery; the American College of Mohs Surgery; and the New York Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, to name a few.
In addition to her work in practice, Dr. Khan serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is also known as the dermatologist who invented magnetic tattoo ink that can be easily removed with lasers and magnets – which is now a patent owned by the company Freedom II, Inc – and is the inventor of the topically applied "Optical Clearing Cream."
To honor her career accomplishments, Dr. Khan was the recipient of the 2015 Doctor's Choice Award from Leaders of Healthcare. When not working, she enjoys traveling, photography, hiking and martial arts – as a Double Black Belt.
When not working, Dr. Khan volunteers her time to the KIND Fund, HIV-related causes, the Weill Cornell Medical College and Leaders of Healthcare. She also provides free cancer screenings as needed.
In looking to the future, Dr. Khan hopes to expand her practice to include more research related to human adipose tissue and in the field of lasers. She also aims to be regarded as one of the experts patients turn to for corrective surgeries related to scarring and fat.
