Kids plant seeds and discover their 'roots' with expanded classroom program and new growing kits
MARYSVILLE, Ohio, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Get kids' minds and gardens growing early indoors, and help them see their gardening 'roots'. Miracle-Gro is expanding its classroom program in 2012. Kids from 2,600 first through third grade classrooms in schools in the greater Chicago area, Florida, California and Baltimore will participate in the programs. Classrooms will receive educational materials, gardening activities for students, greenhouse kits dry-erase boards, stickers, and bilingual parent send-home sheets.
The expanded classroom outreach offers teachers, parents and kids a way to link the mind and body through an indoor and outdoor activity — gardening. Kits include everything needed for successful growth of seedlings in a variety of creative ways, in any space, and is a fun way to connect with Mother Nature.
