LAS VEGAS, April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Miracle Flights, the nation's leading medical flight organization, sprung into Spring with 659 coordinated flights for sick children and their families.
Miracle Flights services patients from all over the country, as well as all over the globe. Highlights from March 2017 include 9 international flights from locations such as Germany and Serbia, as well as 94 flights from the state of Texas.
A leader in the medical transportation community for over 30 years, Miracle Flights has coordinated 107,283 flights and flown over 60 million miles. The nonprofit provides free plane tickets to those suffering from rare and life-threatening medical conditions so that they may gain access to distant medical care…as many times as necessary.
Mark E. Brown, CEO of Miracle Flights, said, "Spring is known as a time of re-birth, and I think that's especially true for our patients. We often see an increase in flight numbers during this season, as patients begin focusing on improving their health and well-being."
"Take, for example, Caden and Caitlyn. This pair of siblings both have Craniosynostosis—a condition where the bones in the head fuse prematurely. By providing the whole family with plane tickets to their doctor in Salt Lake City, UT, we were able to alleviate a lot of financial stress. I can't begin to imagine the struggle of having one sick child, let alone two children," Brown explained.
Additionally, Miracle Flights will host its inaugural golf social, Swings for Wings, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at TopGolf Las Vegas. Presented by Bank of Nevada, the evening will raise funds for critically ill children in need of medical care far from home.
Space for the event is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to reserve their spots now. To RSVP, become a corporate sponsor or donate an auction item, please visit miracleflights.org/swingsforwings.
