PARIS, Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tomorrow's urban landscape will be on show at MIPIM with the presentation of hundreds of ambitious real-estate projects from around the world in an exhibition covering 20,000 m2.
Organised by Reed MIDEM, a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions, MIPIM will be held in Cannes from 12 to 15 March 2013.
"As well as being the key rendezvous for investors, MIPIM also offers an opportunity to survey the wealth and diversity of tomorrow's architectural ambitions. Architects are outperforming each other in designing agreeable places to live: the well-being of occupants is now paramount in any building project. Tomorrow's urban landscapes harmoniously interlace aesthetics, innovation and practicality in a creative collaboration between architects, engineers, city authorities and end users," comments the German architect Jurgen Mayer H, winner of Mies van der Rohe Award Emerging Architect Special Mention 2003 and founder of his architecture firm Jurgen Mayer H.

Istanbloom, Turkey
Istanbloom is located right in the centre of the Istanbul's business district. The tower's iconic shape has been designed to reflect the historical and cultural diversity of Istanbul and is set to become the new symbol of the city. The 46 floors will house luxury residences, offices, shops, restaurants, a sports room, courtyard gardens, terraces, and an outdoor swimming pool. The tower is surrounded by 5,200 m2 of green areas, providing a serene and healthy environment away from the city's confusion. Istanbloom will also be served by a road network and public transport. The project complies with LEED Gold certification requirements.
YONGSAN IBD (YIBD) BLOCK H, South Korea
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) in association with Samoo Associate Architect, this skyscraper will rise above the new urban centre of Seoul in South Korea. The goal of YIBD is to create a new symbol for the 21st Century city; a new urban centre in Seoul for international business, living, entertainment and shopping. YIBD has been designed to maximize the site potential and taking advantage of connections made to its urban and natural assets. The master plan, created by the Daniel Libeskind Studio, is a dynamic urban environment containing contributions from 19 different architects practising in diverse locations around the globe. The 385-metre building will include a five-star hotel and high-end residences, which have been designed to make the most of natural light, and the breath-taking views while preserving maximum privacy. The body of tower will be split into three asymmetrically wings with floors that gradually step inwards to create rooftop gardens for the apartment and five-star hotel housed inside. The residential club amenity highlights a cantilevered swimming pool that will be located on the roof of one these wings. Each wing is carefully oriented to increase view to the River Han to the south, to Yongsan Park to the east and to the Nam-San historic district to the north. The tower aims to intensify the social aspect of the street through a distinct urban landscape and diverse programme at the lower level of the building such as a casino, shops, spa and other amenities. Block H is scheduled for completion in 2016.
Mebe One Khimki Plaza, Russian Federation
Mebe One Khimki Plaza is a new 19-storey business centre in Khimki, Moscow Region, located a few minutes from Sheremetyevo International Airport (7km) and the city centre of Moscow (20km). Designed by the British architects John McAslan + Partners, the 84m-high angular building creates a new visual landmark along Leningradskoye highway. The project will provide 26,415 m² of Class A office space, with premium facilities including a cafe and restaurant, a high-tech fitness centre and a free shuttle bus service to the nearest metro stations. This LEED 'Gold' certified building is designed to international commercial specifications and will set new standards in sustainable design in Russia. Mebe One Khimki Plaza is scheduled to open in February 2014, becoming home to leading blue-chip organisations.
Copenhagen Port Company House, Denmark
The Copenhagen Port Company House, located in a part of the Copenhagen Harbour called 'Nordhavnen,' will be transformed from an old and dilapidated free port to an intimate and sustainable city area. The two former cement silos will be converted into an office building developed by NCC Property Development. The offices will be fitted on the outside of those silos from a level of 24 metres above quay level, corresponding to the level of a traditional sixth floor. They will overlook the roof tops of the neighbouring buildings and have a 360-degree view of Copenhagen and the harbour. Copenhagen Port Company House comprises 13,000 m2 office spaces and the top floor offers an equipped canteen, conference and meeting rooms as well as access to a roof terrace. It will be constructed as a Green Building according to EU standards and is also designed to be BREEAM Very Good certified. The building will be ready for occupancy in July 2014.
