MIPTV : April 4-7, Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France
Fresh Talent Pitch Call for Entries now open
PARIS, Dec. 16, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- After a successful launch last year, MIPFormats, the formats conference, pitching and matchmaking showcase dedicated to the international professionals from scripted and unscripted entertainment, is back for a second edition and has grown to a week end event on April 2-3, ahead of MIPTV 2011 that will be held from April 4 to 7 in Cannes.
Once again partnering with C21 Formats Lab to deliver a rich interactive conference programme, MIPFormats will also increase its matchmaking events, pitching sessions, screenings and workshops to provide a 360-degree vision of the formats business. MIPFormats' "Meet the Buyers & Commissioners" business accelerator and the "Format Launch Showcase & Cocktail," are set to create the ultimate face-to-face networking experiences between key format decision-makers.
"The first MIPFormats was a first-rate success, with more than 600 executives attending," said Laurine Garaude, Reed MIDEM's Television Division Director. "We've rewired the 2011 event to include much more content and networking opportunities, and will be bringing in even more commissioning editors and buyers to ensure delegates get the most out of attending. Also, expanding the event, starting Saturday afternoon, allows us to create a more in-depth and rich programme."
Producers have until 25 February 2011 to submit their new and original concepts for the 2nd Annual MIPFormats Fresh Talent Pitch, the unique platform for pitching fresh creative talent and new original concepts for new, non-scripted entertainment formats. A committee of industry experts, including the international programme tracking company and MIPFormats partner The WIT, will select the most innovative and creative projects to be pitched in Cannes, in front of international buyers, commissioners and distributors.
Entertainment Master Class, FRAPA and WIPO are also partners of MIPFormats 2011.
