PARIS, June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MIPCOM today announces the initial line-up for the Media Mastermind conference programme to take centre-stage in the Palais des Festivals' Grand Auditorium in Cannes. The confirmed speakers are Frances Berwick, President, Bravo and Style Media, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia, Ryan Kavanaugh, CEO, Relativity Media, and Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. Organised by Reed MIDEM, MIPCOM will take place in Cannes, 7-10 October 2013.
"Television is undergoing a dramatic transformation and confirms itself as the world's most creative medium for the world's best storytellers. With more screens and more interaction coming into play, television and storytelling as we know it is being redefined — leading to more creative and business opportunities than ever before," said Laurine Garaude, Director of Reed MIDEM's Television Division. "As we enter a new golden age of television, MIPCOM is delighted to welcome some of the most influential personalities of the new world of content from major film, television and online companies such as Bravo and Style Media, FremantleMedia, Relativity Media, and Amazon Studios."
As President of Bravo and Style Media, Frances Berwick has strategic oversight of both networks, overseeing production, development, programming, marketing, research, ad sales, digital and communications. Under her leadership, Bravo recently unveiled its largest slate of original programming-to-date, with 17 new and 18 returning unscripted series as well as three new scripted projects in development. Berwick also led Style to now be among the top 10 fastest growing women's cable networks over the last three years. The network will increase its original programming by 22 percent, more than doubling the amount of new series to premiere in 2013.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz is Chief Executive Officer of FremantleMedia, one of the world's largest international creators, producers and distributors of leading prime time entertainment, drama, serial drama, factual entertainment and kids & family programming. Owned by the RTL Group, FremantleMedia delivers more than 9,200 hours of programming a year, produced across its international network of companies in 22 countries. The company's market-leading capabilities extend from content creation to licensing, digital and branded entertainment, gaming and home entertainment.
Ryan Kavanaugh is the Chief Executive Officer of Relativity, a next-generation studio engaged in multiple aspects of entertainment, including film and television financing, production and distribution, music publishing, sports management and digital media. Under Kavanaugh's leadership, Relativity has produced, distributed or structured financing for nearly 200 motion pictures, generating over $22 billion in worldwide box office revenue and earning 73 Oscar nominations. Relativity Television is one of the largest suppliers of unscripted television programmes in the U.S. and is currently expanding into scripted series.
Roy Price is the Director of Amazon Studios and oversees the development and production of original film and television properties for Amazon. Amazon Studios is a unique experiment in collaborative filmmaking that is open to great ideas from creators and audiences around the world. Anyone can upload a script and within 45 days will be notified if that script is optioned. After filtering more than 14,000 movie scripts and 4,000 series pilots, Amazon Studios now has 24 film projects and 30 television series in development.
"With the first speakers lined up for the Media Mastermind Keynote programme, a new Croisette Village exhibition venue to meet increasing demand for stands and companies already expressing interest in bringing in more talent than ever before, MIPCOM 2013 promises to be a record-breaking edition," concludes Laurine Garaude.
