Minnesota School of Cosmetology Partners with Operation Glass Slipper to Help Girls in Need

MINNEAPOLIS, June 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Minnesota School of Cosmetology is hosting a prom dress drive in partnership with Operation Glass Slipper, an organization that provides prom dresses and accessories to girls who otherwise may not be able to attend because they can't afford it.

Until July 1, 2014, anyone who brings a bridesmaid, homecoming or prom dress to the Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Plymouth campus will receive a complimentary service. All dress donations will be given to Operation Glass Slipper to provide to students in need at its Princess Event, a day when students who have been nominated are able to get everything they need for prom.

"We're proud to help out Operation Glass Slipper because it's such a great organization," says Elaine Vanderburgh, campus director for Minnesota School of Cosmetology. "We believe all girls should be able to attend prom and feel beautiful."

This year, MSC also donated 900 complimentary up-dos to girls who attended the Princess Event.

Donations can be dropped off at the Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Plymouth campus located at 1425 County Road 101 N, Plymouth, MN 55447 during hours of operation:

Monday 9:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
Tuesday 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
Wednesday 9:30 a.m.-9:15 p.m.
Thursday 9:30 a.m.-9:15 p.m.
Friday 9:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
Saturday 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
