Minnesota Hospital Trustee Earns Certification
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A Minnesota hospital trustee was honored this weekend for completing the Minnesota Hospital Association board member certification program.
Larry Anderson is a trustee for the United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Anderson is the sixth Minnesota trustee to earn the distinction —five others completed the voluntary training program for the first time last summer.
The initiative verifies trustees' efforts to remain up-to-date on health care issues, to hone their leadership skills and to develop governance best practices. Anderson was given the certificate during the hospital association's winter Trustee Conference in Plymouth.
"Certification helps assure stakeholders that Minnesota's hospitals hold themselves to high standards and are accountable for their governance performance," said Lawrence Massa, MHA president and CEO. "These trustees are actively demonstrating their commitment to the principles that make them exceptional assets to the patients and communities they serve."
To qualify, participants have to earn a minimum of 35 education units in topics as varied as strategic planning and patient safety and quality.
