Minnesota Dental Association Announces 2014-15 Officers and Honors Senator Julie Rosen
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Dental Association recently held its annual House of Delegates meeting at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Bloomington where new officers were elected. The newly-elected 2014-2015 officers include: Dr. Dan Rose, as president; Dr. Peter Cannon as president-elect; Dr. Kevin Dens as first vice-president; Dr. R. David Resch as second vice-president; and Dr. Howard Taylor as speaker of the house. Dr. Travis Schmitt currently serves as treasurer of the Association.
Dr. Rose is a general dentist in Pillager, Minnesota, and also provides general dental services at Lakewood Hospital in Staples, Minnesota. Dr. Cannon is in general practice in St. Paul. Dr. Dens practices at Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Baxter. Dr. Resch practices at Associated Dentists in St. Paul. Dr. Taylor is a general practice dentist at Advanced Dental Group in St. Anthony. Dr. Schmitt practices in Austin.
Trustees also elected to fill current expiring terms were Dr. Mike Miskovich (Hibbing), trustee from the Northeastern District, and Dr. Amber Cziok (Litchfield), trustee from the West Central District.
Senator Julie Rosen was honored by the delegates in attendance and presented the MDA Legislator of the Year Award for her tireless advocacy for improving dental access to public program recipients, fighting unnecessary regulatory burdens, and for her efforts encouraging growth in rural dentistry.
The Association looks forward to a successful year working with these new leaders. Priorities for the coming year include working with the Minnesota Department of Health to improve oral health for Minnesotans, as well as continuing to work with policy makers at all levels to ensure that the profession's and, most importantly, the patient's best interest are always at the forefront.
