Minister of Veterans Affairs highlights Government's commitment to improving service for Veterans and their families
The Honourable Erin O'Toole addresses the Conference of Defence Associations
OTTAWA, Feb. 19, 2015 /CNW/ - The Honourable Erin O'Toole, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today delivered a keynote speech at the annual CDA Conference on Security and Defence.
During the address, Minister O'Toole highlighted his determination to adopt a Veteran-centric approach that is focused on care, compassion and respect.
The Minister also outlined the Government of Canada's commitment to improving support for Veterans and their families by:
- making access to benefits and services easier by reducing red tape and eliminating administrative burdens;
- creating a principled framework that enables case managers to say "yes"; and
- ensuring prompt attention, especially support for operational stress injuries, and timely benefit administration for Veterans.
