LOS ANGELES, June 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mindshare, the media agency network that is part of WPP, has appointed Cheryl Idell to run its West Coast operations.
Idell joins from Nielsen where she most recently held the role of EVP Client Solutions leading the Disney relationship. She brings with her a wealth of performance, research, client side and agency experience, having previously held senior roles at 20th Century Fox, IAG Research (now Nielsen TV Brand Effect) and Initiative Media, where she was EVP, Chief Strategic and Research Officer.
Idell will be based in Los Angeles and will also have responsibility for the Portland and newly launched San Francisco operations, covering clients including Lionsgate, Nike, BBVA, and Nordstrom and 150 employees. Mindshare San Francisco was launched earlier this year to harness the speed and culture of Silicon Valley partners, technologies and platforms at the center of Internet of Things and new disruptive models.
Nick Emery, Global CEO Mindshare said: "We are delighted that someone with Cheryl's experience is joining our U.S. team to take the helm from Adam Gerhart and continue the growth of our West Coast operations. She brings with her a fantastic heritage in performance and has worked on all sides of the equation and understands what clients want and how to deliver that."
Ernie Simon, Mindshare North America CEO said: "Cheryl is a world-class talent with a unique background encompassing client side, research, insights and analytics and is a true thought leader in our industry. We're thrilled that she is joining our team to help bring to life the adaptive marketing approach for our clients."
Cheryl Idell, West Coast Lead, Mindshare U.S. said: '"I'm energized to re-enter the agency world at a time when the convergence of big data and consumer insights are critical in developing media strategies for successful business outcomes for advertisers. Joining the Mindshare team with its incredible breadth of resources and dynamic client base is the perfect opportunity for me to use the varied skill set I've developed throughout my career."
The appointment follows the recent restructure of the North American leadership team that saw LA office lead Adam Gerhart assume the role of CEO Mindshare U.S. Additionally, it signals the growth of the West Coast operation that has seen the opening of a San Francisco office as well as the LA office's relocation to a new campus in Playa Vista, as well as a 27 percent increase in employees including a fourfold expansion of its analytics team.
