MindLink's Collaboration App to be compatible with BlackBerry Secure Work Space
LONDON, December 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Industry first brings persistent chat via Lync to secure corporate environment
MindLink Software, a provider of real-time business-critical collaboration and persistent chat solutions, has today announced that its collaboration app will, for the first time, bring Microsoft Lync persistent chat into the BlackBerry® Secure Work Space environment.
MindLink for SECTOR has been developed in partnership with OpenPeak, a provider of enterprise-class mobile device and application management solutions. MindLink leverages OpenPeak's SECTOR personal device application for the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment so that teams can collaborate and share knowledge and ideas in a secure and controlled manner, regardless of their location.
The only enterprise app for Microsoft Lync that can run on iOS devices within the BlackBerry Secure Work Space, MindLink for SECTOR is securely wrapped with features developed by security experts. It can be made mandatory by an enterprise's IT team by pushing or publishing the app on a corporate app storefront for simple and fast user access. This reduces organisational risk by ensuring unsafe or faulty apps cannot be downloaded onto devices and allows lost devices to be wiped of all app data.
The availability of MindLink for SECTOR coincides with the launch of BlackBerry's latest version of BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES10 version 10.2), ensuring that the app is in-line with BlackBerry's latest technology developments. Software vendors can enable their apps to securely run in the Secure Work Space, which provides built-in secure connectivity through to behind-the-firewall systems with no VPN required, and MindLink for SECTOR is among the first to do so.
Key MindLink for SECTOR features include:
- Advanced team collaboration within a secure corporate environment
- Greater control when managing persistent chat channels for mobile application management administrators responsible for multi-device management
- Stronger enterprise security and compliance standards through MindLink's optional containerisation capabilities
- Existing BlackBerry infrastructure can be used to support iOS devices running MindLink
- Administration of iOS devices is unified with the administration of BlackBerry devices
"While the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) concept can reduce technology overhead costs and allow employees to use their preferred handsets, it also comes with significant security challenges," says Annekathrin Häse, Director of Strategy and Marketing at MindLink. "MindLink has partnered with BlackBerry and OpenPeak to develop an end-to-end solution to address the risk of sensitive information falling into the wrong hands. By bringing our MindLink persistent group chat app into the Blackberry Secure Work Space environment, organisations are assured that discussions and knowledge shared in this collaborative environment remains confidential and protected."
MindLink for Sector supports Microsoft OCS 2007 R2, Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013.
