Milton Security Group Introduces Cloud Authentication Security for Google Apps for Education

FULLERTON, Calif., March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Milton Security Group announced today that the company has created a new system to integrate Adaptive Network Access control that leverages Google Apps For Education. Google Apps for Education has become a popular fixture on campuses across the United States over the last seven years.

Cloud Authentication Security (CAS) provides a single sign-on environment by integrating Google Apps For Education Authentication with the either of the Adaptive Network Access Control appliances Milton Security manufactures (Edge7200 and ICEGuard). When a user logs in with their Google Apps for Education account, they are immediately granted access to the network based on their identity. Not only is this simpler for students, staff, and guests, but it gives visibility and control to the IT Department.  

Many schools have networks that have grown organically with their enrollment over the years.  In a lot of these schools, the tech departments are beginning to lean heavily on cloud authentication to provide structure for their networks. Cloud authentication presents challenges in the areas of visibility, identification, and control. By combining the authentication with an Adaptive Network Security appliance, these issues are easily resolved.

Due to the high number of educational data breaches in the last year, schools are scrambling to protect the information stored in their networks.
