SAN DIEGO, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Health, a leading health solutions company, today announced the appointment of Darrell W. Contreras, as its new Chief Compliance Officer; Angela Huskey, PharmD, CPE, as Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer; and Rami Ben-Joseph, PhD, as Senior Vice President, Health Outcomes Research. Contreras brings nearly 20 years of experience in compliance in the health care industry and will be responsible for leading all areas of the company's compliance programs. Huskey has nearly 15 years of clinical practice and medical affairs experience and will be responsible for ensuring the clinical integrity of all corporate initiatives. Ben-Joseph is a renowned expert who will direct Millennium's health economics and outcomes research team to support Millennium's products and services.

Contreras will oversee corporate compliance, ethics and HIPAA privacy standards for Millennium. Prior to joining Millennium, he founded and was a partner of JD HealthCare Partners, LLC, a compliance and risk management consulting firm where he worked with health care organizations on legal, privacy, risk and compliance matters. He began his career as a consultant for Ernst & Young's Health Sciences Advisory Services practice and later served as the Chief Compliance Officer for two large health care organizations. Contreras serves as a member of the Compliance Certification Board Exam Committees for the Certified in Healthcare Compliance Fellowship (CHC-F), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), and Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC). He is on the faculty for the Health Care Compliance Association's national Compliance and Privacy Academies. Contreras earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Southern California and holds compliance certifications through the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board in the following: CHC-F, CHPC, and Certified Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC).
Dr. Huskey, as Chief Clinical Officer, is responsible for leading Clinical Affairs and Millennium's Clinical Excellence Committee, to promote standards for clinically effective, medically reasonable and necessary testing. Prior to working for Millennium, she practiced as a clinical pharmacy specialist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in the care of patients with complex pain syndromes, and held medical affairs positions at Covidien/Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, King Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from University Of Georgia and later received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest honors from the University Of Florida College Of Pharmacy. At Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Dr. Huskey completed a specialty residency in pain management and palliative care. She is a clinical assistant professor at the University Of Florida College Of Pharmacy. Dr. Huskey is a Certified Pain Educator and was the 2012 recipient of the American Society of Pain Educators 'Pain Educator of the Year' Award. Dr. Huskey has been with Millennium since 2012.
Ben-Joseph is an accomplished leader with broad experience in health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, epidemiology, market access, pricing and reimbursement and has significant scientific expertise and therapeutic knowledge in multiple areas, including pain, oncology, urology, arthritis, diabetes, obesity, metabolism, cardiovascular, respiratory and ophthalmology. Before joining Millennium, Dr. Ben-Joseph served as executive director and head of health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics for Purdue Pharma. Prior to that, he held leadership positions in health economics at Endo Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi-Aventis, Pharmacia, and Merck. He serves as an Advisory Board Member at the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR) at Tufts Medical Center. He has been published over 80 times. He received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy from the Hebrew University of Israel, Medical School, College of Pharmacy, and his doctorate in health administration from the University of Florida, Medical School, College of Pharmacy.
